canon g11 test shots

finally got ourselves a camera :) we couldn't decide at first whether to get the 500d or the g11, but after watching the youtube demos of the 500d, we realized we're not ready for it. it's also quite bulky compared to the g11. not to mention very expensive hehe...

after shooting a few pictures, we decided we're happy with our camera :) it's not so big, not so complicated, and takes good pictures!

this is our neighbor's plant... i wish i can grow healthy plants like she does, but after a couple of "dead" plants i don't think i have the green thumb. i was even dreaming of growing my own herb garden in our kitchen :(

this one's mine, and still alive. it was a gift from our neighbor so i think he has a good chance to grow forth and multiply.

i was experimenting with the aperture setting on this one. i still don't know what it means.

jamie oliver's concertina squid minus the parsley and the mint leaves. i never cooked squid with potatoes before, but this is quite good! i'll do this again with the complete ingredients. i'm going to try his other recipes too :) we already tried his lasagna with roasted pumpkins and it was really good! we never imagined that lasagna would taste great with pumpkins.

just keeping the blog alive!

today was my last day with EDS... i'm a bit down because i know i'll really miss working there, but i just need to know where this other path leads to.

ok, since i'm starting with a new job, i feel like making a resolution: i will try to post more often! and i will try to paint all those images that i have in my head. i think i already mentioned that somewhere in my previous posts...

i need a break!!!

jaydee's playing WoW again... which means i have to find something to amuse me until it's time to go to sleep. or I can hover around him and press random letters on his keyboard until he gives up and just watch TV with me hehe... that's amusing :)

i'm not in the mood to bring out all of my painting materials so i decided to check out my favorite wallpaper artist :)

i really really like his latest creation.




i like all his wallpapers! they're so cute and light-hearted. i wish i can make something like this, but i just couldn't figure out photoshop! and it's been years since i last tried my hand at digital artwork. the only drawings i make lately on the computer are network drawings, with routers and clouds and lightning and other stuff. i generally stick to the template with these drawings. i don't think they'll be taken seriously if i start adding some background shading.

i've been reading up on vladstudio's tutorials and hopefully, i'll be inspired to try them out one day :)

my first for this year :)

one thing i noticed when i first came to singapore --> they have lots of TREES!!! lots and lots of trees! i particularly like the old ones that line up the streets. i like looking up from underneath and seeing all the small branches form a mesh against the sun. i'll paint that view next time :)

it's the year of the ox! my mom-in-law says i'll be lucky this year. i was born in the year of the horse. hope i will be :) sisipagin akong tumaya sa toto hehe... (i'll be more encouraged to play toto)

and for this year, our new year's resolution will be... same as last year's! actually i couldn't remember what was last year's... but here's our new list:

1. Gamitin ang bike sa pag-go-grocery sa fairprice (use the bike to buy groceries at fairprice)
2. Gamitin ang bike sa pagpunta sa sports complex para mag-swimming (use the bike to go to the sports complex to swim)
3. Mag-jogging kahit once a week please... (jogging once a week please)
4. Ipa-repair ang kalan please lang... (have the stove repaired... please)
5. Bawasan ang pagta-taxi (less cab rides)
6. Kumain ng tama... yung tama lang... (eat right... just the right amount)

ok! let's just hope we get to at least use the bikes...

i've quite a number of pictures on my cellphone already that i really want to sketch...but work gets in the way :P and i got so caught up with the christmas shopping (which i can only squeeze after office) and planning for our noche buena and medya noche... and we've been watching bleach night after night...(excuses!)

anyway, just wanted to greet everyone happy holidays! i will try my best to post a new sketch very soon :)
